Rmbl scientists. Oct 18, 2024 · GOTHIC, Colo. May 3, 2025 · Since it was established in 1928, more than 9,000 scientists, students, and staff have worked, lived, and studied at RMBL. Until recently, RMBL field scientists have focused on evolutionary biology and ecology, like pollinators, marmots, and ground squirrels, and their approach to data gathering was largely old school — outside in the field using nets and notebooks and tracking behavior, migration, and patterns year after year. Charles Remington, an influential figure in the study of butterflies, spent a number of years working on the genetics of butterflies at the Lab. Excited to share that RMBL Executive Director Jeni Blacklock and Principal Research Scientist Ian Breckheimer recently visited Texas A&M University to deepen partnerships with faculty and expand . In the search box you can type authors, keywords, part of a title, or a year and it will pull up the records that correspond. RMBL Scientists may post job ads here for technicians. Each student is paired with a RMBL scientist mentor and completes an independent project. They have also helped establish non-consumptive water rights in Colorado. Jobs, Internships & Contracts Each summer, RMBL has several full-time and part-time staff positions in the kitchen, physical plant, administrative office as well as in environmental education or research related areas. Science at RMBL Scientists have been visiting the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory since 1928. This group of scientists is contributing to the long legacy of research at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, or RMBL (pronounced RMBL is a great place to be both a scientist and a parent, because it is really possible to bring your family to the field with you. The Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, founded in 1928 as an independent nonprofit organization, is a biological field station located near Crested Butte, Colorado. RMBL provides scientists and students access to diverse habitats, research and education infrastructure, a STUDENT EXPECTATIONS RMBL EDUCATION PROGRAM 2026 Goal The primary goal of this program is to help students become scientists through a mentored research experience and a cohort-based professional development program. Such understanding is an inevitable consequence of bringing scientists with diverse areas of expertise together in one place over a long period of time. You’ll learn about nature while helping RMBL scientists document the diversity and distribution of organisms, especially wildflowers and pollinators, near the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory. Students will be given opportunities to learn what it means to do science and be a scientist. — In a picturesque summer meadow in Colorado’s high country, dozens of scientists squat, lean, and peer closer at the plants and animals. Since 1928, more than 9,000 people have studied, worked, lived and conducted research at RMBL on important topics such as pollination, changing climate and high-altitude ecosystems. Digital RMBL Digital RMBL brings a range of data resources generated at the remote Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (RMBL) into college classrooms around the world. The program enrolls 40 undergraduate, recent graduate, and early career graduate students. Want to keep up with RMBL science, billy barr, and other scientists?
